WE INVITE YOU TO DISCOVER THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD’S GREATEST CITIES AND THEN HELP US BUILD THEM INTO THE FUTURE WITH LEGO!
Our brand-new LEGO® brick exhibition focuses on some of the world’s greatest Cities, explores their history with LEGO and then invites you to build them into the future with millions of LEGO® bricks!
With this exhibition we’ve really pushed the envelope and built something very different that combines classic fun Brickman models with cutting edge technology.
The exhibition is powered by one of the most famous cities in the world- LEGO® City! We’ve devoted an entire wall of the exhibition to showcasing the history of LEGO® City and how it has helped children learn about vital city services as well as offering over a million LEGO® City bricks for visitors to build their own essential services
The centrepiece of the new exhibition is a 3m x 4m 1:600 scale model of Lower Manhattan, and is built entirely in white LEGO pieces so we can 3-D project stories of New York directly onto them with UHD 4K projectors. The story takes visitors from the days of the First People’s villages amongst the swamps of the river delta right up until the present day.
Around Manhattan we have 4 of great cities of the world; London, Tokyo, Dubai and Sydney. Each City is represented in 3 different stages of their history, from 1000 AD right up to the present day and show how each city has evolved and grown. Each City has hundreds of thousands of LEGO bricks for YOU to build what you think that city will look like in the future!
And if that wasn’t enough LEGO® fun, the Brickman Cities exhibition will feature for the first-time ever, a brand-new collaboration with LEGO® CITY – an entire wall devoted to showcasing the history of LEGO® CITY, with CITY Fire Stations from decades ago. This interactive master builder zone offers kids the opportunity to get hands-on with over half a million LEGO® bricks, become the heroes of LEGO® CITY and spark their creativity and build the LEGO® CITY of tomorrow.
Part WOW factor, part educational, Brickman Cities took over 1,500 hours to build and used over 900,000 LEGO® bricks, with the team spending a further 250 hours developing sophisticated 3D projections that bring the hero city, New York to life.
“To integrate 3D projection technology with LEGO bricks like we have is something I never thought was even possible, let alone for it to tell such a cool story” “We’ve taken education by stealth to a whole new level, imagine LEGO bricks telling a story, That’s what we have been able to achieve” “People around the world have seen amazing projections on buildings, imagine being able to project and tell stories on a whole city!!! What we’ve been able to do is mind bending” Ryan
