What are the opening hours?
Opens 10am daily. Closing times vary, so check your preferred date on the Ticketek website
Monday – Sunday.

Located under Melbourne Museum, the car park is open 7 days a week from 6.00am to midnight daily. Enter via Rathdowne Street or Nicholson Street. Book a car park & see rates here.

What are the transport options?
Situated in Carlton Gardens, just north of the Royal Exhibition Building, there are trams right next to the Museum on Nicholson St ( Routes 86 & 96) and it is a short walk from Parliament Train Station. See more on the Museum website.

What is the price for tickets?

Session times – how long can we stay in session?
It takes a minimum of 90 minutes to view the exhibition.

Can you buy tickets at the door?

Yes, tickets will be available however we strongly encourage you to buy tickets before you arrive so ensure you can secure tickets for your preferred session time. We cannot guarantee that tickets will be available for all sessions at the door.


Are we able to take photographs?
Most definitely, although we would ask for no commercial photography.

Will Ryan be at the event?
We’re still confirming Ryan’s schedule but Ryan always likes to be at the show for a least a day or two at the beginning, so stay tuned!

I purchased tickets online – do I need a copy of the paper ticket to gain entry?
Please have a version of your e ticket on your phone or a hardcopy on arrival.

From what age will children be charged for entry?
4 and above.

If i buy a family pass can it be used for 1 adult and 3 children?

Do senior cards qualify for discounts?
Yes. Seniors are admitted at Concession prices

What is the age limit for children’s tickets?
16 and under. Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult within the exhibition.

Is food and drinks allowed?
Food and drink are not allowed in the exhibition. Melbourne Museum has eating spots suitable for all weather, and a cafe if you’d like to buy lunch or snacks before or after visiting. There are also many food & drink options, from restaurants to cafes and bars, in the surrounding streets, with the city and Lygon St both a short walk away.

Is there an area to leave personal belongings?
The Museum has a cloakroom on site

Are there ATM’s nearby?There is an ATM located within the Museum foyer and there are several ATMs nearby in the surrounding streets.

Is there wheelchair and pram access?

The Museum have wheelchairs you can borrow from the cloakroom on a first-come basis. The exhibition galleries and public spaces have lift and/or ramp access. All levels of the museum have accessible toilets.
