What sorts of models are on display?

37 awe-inspiring and never-seen-before models will be on display, with a huge variety of models, from the tallest LEGO® model in the Southern Hemisphere, a giant NASA rocket, our huge 3m tall Orca whale, life-sized Australian animals, the first life-sized LEGO® Harley Davidson motorcycle ever made and a light-up Back to the Future DeLorean, all made from LEGO® Bricks!

What makes these models so special?

This world-class exhibition has been exclusively curated by Ryan McNaught and his expert team – Ryan is the only LEGO® Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere and one of only 14 in the world. We’ve gone above and beyond to make this exhibition new and exciting, with models that break records, light-up and offer new opportunities to interact with them. Amazingly, ‘Awesome’ took a jaw-dropping 4,500 hours to build!

What will I learn about these huge models?

Each model includes a plaque with information about the real place, item or vehicle as well as behind-the-scenes stories about how we built them!

What sorts of activities will there be?

Awesome represents a whole new type of interactive exhibition- different models scattered around the show have build stations where YOU can build your own models to add to the exhibit! LEGO® fanatics will have lots of opportunities to show off their building skills at Brickman Awesome – visitors can help the Brickman team to expand their LEGO® colony of Emperor Penguins, build their very own time machines and even put them on display next to the DeLorean from Back to the Future! As well as multiple LEGO® building stations around the models and photo opportunities you can help us build Australia’s LONGEST LEGO® model, by building sections and adding them to our Snake! We also have our Mr and Mrs Awesome minifig hunt competition where visitors can have lots of fun trying to find the hidden LEGO® minifigures.

Who is this Ryan McNaught guy anyway?

Ryan McNaught is a LEGO® Certified Professional, one of only 14 in the world and the judge on Channel Nine’s hit show LEGO Masters Australia. Its Ryan’s job to make LEGO® models for toy stores and department stores all around the Asia Pacific region, he is the guy that has built famous models such as a 4m tall Darth Vader and a 10m tall Christmas tree in Sydney’s Pitt Street mall.
