Over 47,000 bricks went into recreating the 2 sections of the iconic Mount Panorama Bathurst racing circuit, which is now on display in Bathurst Regional Gallery.
We had heaps of fun recreating lots of moments from throughout the history of the mountain, from its history with the local Wiradjuri Aboriginal people, to famous race crashes and the time a plane landed on the track!
One of the most interesting parts of the build was creating the sloping, curving roadway on the mountain side of the display, which builder Mitch achieved by building the road sideways and using brick bending to flex it over a underlaying brick structure:
We also got a kick out of recreating the racegoers partying on the sides of the track!
