Here’s something new for our American friends from our upcoming exhibition- Happy Fourth of July guys!
Check out the timelapse video of the life-size LEGO® TARDIS we built last year that appeared on Bondi Beach in Sydney! 75,000 bricks, 400 kilos and 300 hours!
Down here at the Brickman workshop we are running like an express train because we’re gearing up toward a massive new touring show! While the full details are still under wraps we thought we’d tease you all by showing one of the biggest new models we’ve built for the show- the first train in the world to break 100mph, The Flying Scotsman!
I’m back in sunny Townsville for the weekend! This time I’m with the Towers of Tomorrow exhibition me and my team built a few years ago, which includes some of the toughest models I’ve ever built of the many of the world’s tallest buildings! The exhibit also includes hundreds of thousands of bricks visitors can use to build their own model. So if you’re in North Queensland or heading there over the next few months, drop by and check them out!
My first LEGO nude! Here’s a side by side of the classic Venus de Medici, a marble sculpture depicting the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite and my LEGO version. The Venus de Medici model is displayed at the Nicholson Museum in Sydney University as part of their Alpha & Omega exhibition opening soon.
Here is the giant Clay Moorington from LEGO NEXO Knights which we made for the LEGO booth at toyfair.
The funny part is he was built by Clay Mellington – pictured
Coincidence? Likeness? You be the judge. – Just remember our Clay Mellington came first.
If you want to check him out he will be at Fountain gate shopping centre in Melbourne April 9 and 10 for the free LEGO Nexo knights event.
We received a huge number of signed bricks from the last Brick Man Experience show in Brisbane and as with the Melbourne & Sydney shows we’ve used the bricks to build an iconic Australian animal. Behold the Brisbane shark Signature Build!
We call him Mick.
Down at the Brickman HQ, for years we have been saying we would love an office pet.
One we could love, look after, be a companion with and generally have fun playing with.
However nobody liked the idea of having to feed and do all the looking after business!
So we compromised! and ended up with “Brutus”, be careful though his fangs are razor sharp!
Well its over! Brickvention 2009 has finished. And i have to say what brickvention it was, we had a new record attendance on sunday just over 1000 people coming through the doors, a
Last month we, along with the LEGO US model shop and 3 other LEGO Certified Professionals from around the world had the privilege of building models for the Star Wars movie premiere. Our models were for the Shanghai red carpet, whilst my Mandarin is poor, by all accounts people were very happy with them!
Brickvention 2016!
I’d like to thank everyone who came along to Brickvention in Melbourne over the 16th and 17th of January and helped us build one of the worlds largest LEGO classic space sets at 64 times its normal size! Using over 550,000 bricks, we finished it with a few hours to spare at 3pm on Sunday.
Occasionally we build something that tops our usual standard of awesome, and occasionally we get to play with really cool stuff, like Dr Who.
I remember as a kid watching the Doctor and his adventures around the galaxy, never for one minute did I think I’d ever get to build a life sized Tardis out of LEGO though!
Well it has literally been ages since I last posted anything, but rest assured, we have not been resting, The months of November and December will see some of the biggest and best creations we have ever made leave our workshop and head out into the wild world for you to enjoy.
Our latest Exhibition opens in Sydney shortly:
Sydney Living Museums presents Sydney Harbour Icons with LEGO® Bricks , a world premiere
exhibition at the Museum of Sydney from 7 November 2015.
A huge thanks to everyone that came along to the Brickman Experience in Melbourne.
I had a lot of feedback that everyone had a great time, there was lots of amazing building happening!
Here’s our latest world record build, the worlds largest LEGO flower.
100,000 bricks and over 400 hours to create, all it needed was a bit of water to grow 🙂
Its grand unveiling is at the Ballarat Begonia Festival for the long weekend of March 7-9th and after that the model will be on display as part of my upcoming tour www.brickmanexperience.com.au
For the first time ever you are welcome to come along and experience my complete collection of LEGO models, along with those of my colleagues the other LEGO Certified professionals who have each created a unique piece for the show.
Come and join in the fun as there is plenty of hands on activities where ill be getting you to help build some giant LEGO models and masterpieces.
Ive got a stack of new stuff never seen in public before so for your only chance to see them come along!
Here is the latest model to leave our workshop, Made for the Disney premiere of the movie Cinderella.
(I’m thinking I need to wear the glass slipper as she has me covered for height!)
She was about 2 weeks in the making, and approx 25,000 bricks.
Thanks to everyone who came in and helped at Brickvention 2014, we managed to build 2 of the most amazing LEGO mosaics.
Each mosaic is 170,540 LEGO pieces!
They are 4.2m wide and 2.4m tall.
On Saturday we completed the LEGO movie mosaic and Sunday we did the Royal Exhibition buildings, I’m sure you will agree they came up really well.
My first ever solo exhibition of LEGO works in conjunction with Sydney Living Museums.
Go along and see what our whole team spent many months building and working on.
This one pushed us to our limits with intricate details, complex curves and architectural geometry.
The exhibition celebrates tall and extraordinary buildings from Australia and Asia. Some are engineering head-turners while others are technical marvels.
(To be honest we are still not sure how we managed to pull off some of these buildings!)
Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks is on now at Museum of Sydney.

Easily the tallest model I have ever made standing 10m tall. 450,000 bricks and weighing in at 3,500 kilograms.
