Back in 2012 LEGO Australia celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary in Australia with the “Festival of Play” which included a visit to Australia by LEGO’s CEO. It was decided to build something distinctly Australian as gifts to the LEGO group VIPs and Ryan chose to build LEGO brick versions of the iconic Aboriginal instrument -the Didgeridoo! […]
For this week’s Throwback Thursday we’re going back to one of Ryan’s biggest and most enduring models: The LEGO brick Love Boat! Built back in 2010, the Love Boat was actually built from the same bricks Ryan used in his first big model, the A-380 and came about when Ryan tried to think of a […]
Our Wonders of the World exhibition is returning next school holidays! And after the recent Oscars’s stuff ups we couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with the reveal of our next location. Tickets go on sale this Friday 3rd March. Watch the reveal here:
It’s the moment that Australian AFOLs have been waiting a lifetime for-the opening of Australia’s first LEGO store at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast! But we’ve also been waiting for it because it means we can finally reveal the massive models we built for it! We built 4 models in collaboration with LEGO USA for […]
Over 47,000 bricks went into recreating the 2 sections of the iconic Mount Panorama Bathurst racing circuit, which is now on display in Bathurst Regional Gallery. We had heaps of fun recreating lots of moments from throughout the history of the mountain, from its history with the local Wiradjuri Aboriginal people, to famous race crashes […]
It’s been an epic first week up in Brisbane for our new Wonders of the World exhibition! It was both exhilarating and slightly frightening to show all the models we’ve been working on for over a year to the public for the first time. But seeing the looks on the faces of the kids ( […]

A month ago we were privileged to have Alex and his family visit the workshop courtesy of the amazing Make-a-Wish Foundation. We had an amazing day showing Alex around our LEGO parts library, getting an exclusive sneak peek at all the new models we’re building and meeting our team of builders! Ryan showed Alex and his […]
AMP commissioned me to make a model of their original building, an iconic curved office block at Sydney’s Circular Quay, and their proposed new building- a stunning modern building that’s all angled glass and gardens with a mall underneath it! You can see the old building well in this shot. The old AMP Building was […]

Down here at the Brickman workshop we are running like an express train because we’re gearing up toward a massive new touring show! I’m back in sunny Townsville for the weekend! This time I’m with the Towers of Tomorrow exhibition me and my team built a few years ago, which includes some of the toughest models I’ve ever built of the many of the world’s tallest buildings! The exhibit also includes hundreds of thousands of bricks visitors can use to build their own model. So if you’re in North Queensland or heading there over the next few months, drop by and check them out!
Here is the giant Clay Moorington from LEGO NEXO Knights which we made for the LEGO booth at toyfair.
The funny part is he was built by Clay Mellington – pictured
Coincidence? Likeness? You be the judge. – Just remember our Clay Mellington came first.
If you want to check him out he will be at Fountain gate shopping centre in Melbourne April 9 and 10 for the free LEGO Nexo knights event.
We received a huge number of signed bricks from the last Brick Man Experience show in Brisbane and as with the Melbourne & Sydney shows we’ve used the bricks to build an iconic Australian animal. Behold the Brisbane shark Signature Build!
We call him Mick.
Last month we, along with the LEGO US model shop and 3 other LEGO Certified Professionals from around the world had the privilege of building models for the Star Wars movie premiere. Our models were for the Shanghai red carpet, whilst my Mandarin is poor, by all accounts people were very happy with them!
I’d like to thank everyone who came along to Brickvention in Melbourne over the 16th and 17th of January and helped us build one of the worlds largest LEGO classic space sets at 64 times its normal size! Using over 550,000 bricks, we finished it with a few hours to spare at 3pm on Sunday.
Occasionally we build something that tops our usual standard of awesome, and occasionally we get to play with really cool stuff, like Dr Who.
I remember as a kid watching the Doctor and his adventures around the galaxy, never for one minute did I think I’d ever get to build a life sized Tardis out of LEGO though!
Well it has literally been ages since I last posted anything, but rest assured, we have not been resting, The months of November and December will see some of the biggest and best creations we have ever made leave our workshop and head out into the wild world for you to enjoy.
Our latest Exhibition opens in Sydney shortly:
Sydney Living Museums presents Sydney Harbour Icons with LEGO® Bricks , a world premiere

A huge thanks to everyone that came along to the Brickman Experience in Melbourne.
I had a lot of feedback that everyone had a great time, there was lots of amazing building happening!
